About the Role
Looking for an Embedded Software Senior Engineer with strong C/C++ and Linux experience. The role involves Linux device driver development, embedded Linux, board bring-up, bootloader, U-Boot, porting, filesystems, Linux kernel development, and multimedia subsystem drivers.
Basic Qualifications
- 2–10 years of experience in Embedded Software
- Strong fundamentals in C
- Strong C/C++ programming skills
- Hands-on experience with Linux
- Experience developing at least 2–3 Linux device drivers
- Experience with embedded Linux
- Experience with board bring-up
- Experience with device drivers, bootloader, U-Boot, porting and filesystems
- Linux kernel compilation and debugging experience
- Knowledge of Linux startup sequencing
- Experience with host-target toolchains
- Experience with system-level debugging
- Ability to read schematics, datasheets, technical reference manuals and silicon revision documents
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PCIe, HDMI, DisplayPort, V4L2 or DRM
- Knowledge of GPU APIs or CUDA programming
- Linux internals knowledge
- Protocol-level knowledge of interfaces
- Open-source software development experience
- Contribution to the Linux kernel codebase
- CMMI and Agile/Scrum experience
Responsibilities
- Understand software requirements
- Design, develop, unit test and debug embedded software
- Develop real-time applications, device drivers, bootloaders and Linux kernel components
- Perform Linux porting and board bring-up
- Prepare requirement specifications and design documentation
- Lead a team of 3–4 engineers
- Perform effort estimation and project planning
- Interact with customers
- Take technical ownership of software driver modules
- Debug system and kernel-level issues
- Work closely with technical leaders and project managers
