About the Role
Silicon Labs is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain embedded firmware for low-power wireless MCUs and the RAIL SDK. The role involves designing embedded software, developing device drivers, optimizing firmware performance, debugging hardware-software issues, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality wireless solutions for IoT products.
Basic Qualifications
– B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/MS in relevant field
– 4+ years of embedded software or firmware development experience
– Strong Embedded C/C++ programming skills
– Experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, or bare-metal systems
– Experience in low-level firmware development
– Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
– Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
– Experience with Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, or proprietary wireless protocols
– Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, timers, and interrupts
– Experience with Python scripting
– Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing
– Experience with silicon bring-up and hardware validation
– ARM or RISC-V assembly knowledge
– Experience with AI-assisted development tools
Responsibilities
– Develop and maintain embedded software for wireless MCUs
– Build device drivers and low-level firmware
– Support hardware throughout the IC lifecycle
– Optimize firmware for performance, power, and memory
– Debug hardware and software issues
– Collaborate with firmware, silicon, hardware, and product teams
– Develop automated testing and validation tools
– Participate in code and design reviews
